Fish evolve different body shapes in reservoirs
Order viagra without prescription, The widespread use of dams could be prompting fish to adopt new body shapes, scientists say in Biology Letters. παραγγείλετε online viagra, The team estimates that the US currently has about 79,000 dams in operation, viagra online cheap. Sedentary snake populations are dwindling
Buy cheap viagra online, Several snake populations in Europe and Africa have been declining in rough unison, researchers have found. Signs of illegal whale meat trade found at sushi restaurants
Order diazepam no prescription, Genetic analysis of samples from sushi restaurants in the U.S. Oregon OR Ore. , and Korea suggest that these two countries are illegally receiving whale meat from Japan, according to a study in Biology Letters.
The first set of samples came from a restaurant in Los Angeles and was marketed to “adventurous” consumers, Osta diazepam. Cheap diazepam online cheap, Researchers found that the meat came from a sei whale and shared DNA sequences with Japanese whale products, indicating that the animal may have been hunted as part of Japan’s “scientific whaling” program.

Newly discovered lizard in Philippines could be flagship species
Buy viagra online, Scientists have found a “spectacular” lizard species in the Philippines, which they say could act as a flagship species for protection of the area’s forests.
The species, Varanus bitatawa, is a 2-meter-long monitor lizard that eats fruit and is covered with distinctive gold markings. The team came across the elusive animal in the Sierra Madre mountains on northern Luzon Island, viagra prices in afghanstein, Soft gel viagra, then performed DNA analysis to confirm that it was a unique species. Another veterinary drug found to be fatal to vultures
För viagra online, Vultures in South Asia have been dying from eating livestock carcasses tainted with diclofenac, a veterinary drug. Now researchers have found that a similar drug called ketoprofen is also fatal to the birds.
Both treatments fall into a category called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). While diclofenac is known to cause kidney failure and death in vultures, drive pc100 viagra, evidence of such effects had not been found for ketoprofen.
Researchers administered ketoprofen, Viagra made in india, both directly and through the carcasses of ketoprofen-treated cattle, to Cape griffon vultures (Gyps coprotheres) and African white-backed vultures (Gyps africanus). Wild vultures could be exposed to these ketoprofen levels if they eat carcasses of recently treated livestock, Approved viagra, the authors say in Biology Letters. Darwin’s specimens aid efforts to save Galápagos mockingbird
Order viagra online, Charles Darwin may have long gone to his grave, but specimens that he collected in the early 1800s are helping today’s conservationists rescue a dwindling mockingbird species on the Galápagos Islands.
The Floreana mockingbird, Mimus trifasciatus, caught Darwin’s eye during his 1835 trip to Galápagos on the HMS Beagle. He and Beagle captain Robert Fitzroy collected specimens of the birds, West Virginia WV W.Va., which later ended up at the Natural History Museum in London. Darwin’s observations of differences among Galápagos mockingbird species are believed to have triggered his initial thoughts on evolution.
Since then, the Floreana mockingbird has been driven to extinction on Floreana Island and remains only on two small nearby islets, cheapest viagra online, Champion and Gardner-by-Floreana. Brand name viagra, A recovery plan is in the works, but the history of the two islet populations has been unclear. If they have been evolving separately for thousands of years, true reviews for viagra, conservationists might want to preserve each group independently. If they diverged recently, it might be better to bring birds from the two populations back together.
To settle the question, a research team examined Floreana mockingbird specimens taken from the two islets in 2006-2008 and 1905-1906, as well as Darwin and Fitzroy’s Floreana Island specimens from 1835, order viagra online. Viagra online fast delivery, DNA analyses suggested that the Champion and Gardner birds began independently evolving only 270 and 450 years ago, respectively. Some of the genetic variations found in Darwin’s Floreana Island specimens had been retained on Champion but not Gardner, Um viagra online, and vice versa.
Conservationists should therefore introduce birds from both islets to Floreana as part of the recovery effort, Cusco viagra, the team writes in Biology Letters. The Champion birds show high levels of inbreeding, and mixing the two populations would benefit the species by increasing genetic variation, viagra athens ga, says study co-author Lukas Keller of the University of Zurich. Primate declines tied to El Niño cycles
Viagra pharmacy, More frequent El Niño events could put pressure on some already-endangered primate species, according to a new study in Biology Letters.

Killer whale declines may be driven by changes in salmon populations
Lowest price viagra, As top predators, killer whales exert a strong influence on the rest of the food web. Pfizer viagra 50mg, But now scientists have shown in Biology Letters that it can work the other way around: changes in a single prey species can cause killer whale populations to ebb and flow as well.
Killer whales can eat a wide variety of animals, but individual populations may focus on a narrow set of prey, viagra darwin. Viagra baltimore, The authors studied 25 years of data from two killer whale populations off the coasts of British Columbia and Washington State, which typically eat Chinook salmon, generic viagra mexico. Male elephant Loxodonta africana calves with young mothers are most likely to die during a drought, according to findings published this week in Biology Letters. The study, led by Wildlife Conservation Society researcher Charles Foley, used data from the 1993 extreme drought in Tarangire National Park, Tanzania, to look for patterns in calf survival resulting from calf sex, mother's age and family group. Some family groups migrated out of the Park during the drought: only these clans contained individuals old enough to remember the previous severe drought of 1958-61. Seems that an elephant really does never forget. Source: Foley C, Pettorelli N & Foley L (2008) Severe drought and calf survival in elephants. Biology Letters DOI: 10.1098/rsbl.2008.0370

Species with small ranges face a greater extinction risk from climate change, according to a paper published this week in Biology Letters. University of Durham researcher Ralf Ohlemüller – now at York – and colleagues studied species ranges in European butterflies and plants and Western Hemisphere birds, and noticed a link between rare pockets of habitat and smaller species ranges. Those rare patches -- at unusually high or low altitude compared to the surrounding landscape, for example -- and their atypical species composition and diversity, are likely relicts from the last ice age. Species there have clung onto survival under the warmer climes they've experienced since, but they are particularly vulnerable to the impact of future climate change, being marooned in ever-shrinking oases.
